AP I expects an increase in the number of passengers during the Eid period at 4 airports
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – State airport operator PT Angkasa Pura I has predicted that the influx of passengers and air traffic will occur at several airports during the return period from Eid (Mudik Lebaran) from April 29 to April 8 May, with the highest movement at four airports, including Surabaya and Yogyakarta.
“Increased passenger and flight traffic during the Eid 2022 period will occur at Juanda Airport in Surabaya, Sultan Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali and Yogyakarta International Airport,” AP I CEO Faik Fahmi said on Saturday April 16.
He said his office had established operational and service plans to deal with the influx of passengers during the mudik season. Additionally, AP I will open positions at 15 airports from April 25 to May 10.
During this period, all airports managed by AP I are expected to serve 2.3 million people, an increase of 452%. During this time, air traffic will reach 19,579 or increase by 232% compared to that of the 2021 period.
Faik Fahmi went on to explain that the airports will operate according to the set opening hours. He also reminded all passengers to pay attention to travel requirements.
