Christiane Ferger in charge at Alila Resort

The Alila Seminyak has appointed German national Christiane Ferger as general manager of their 176-suite and room beachfront property on Bali’s Seminyak Beach.
Ferger brings 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry to a role where she was assigned “to help the team continue to adapt and grow amid the changing trends that come after these challenging times.”
Beginning her professional life in a hotel internship program in Germany, Christine discovered her calling in the hospitality industry, finding that working in the hospitality sector has awakened lively energy, diversity and a dynamic daily rhythm in a where even a simple helpful gesture or deed could make someone’s day.
After officially starting his career in 1989 with Hilton Hotels and Resorts, Christine has spent 26 years working with Hyatt. In 1996, she became Banquet Assistance Manager at the Hyatt Regency Cologne. Over the next 24 years, she progressed steadily, working in catering, events, sales, rooms and management on assignments with Hyatt Regency Cologne, Park Hyatt Saigon, Grand Hyatt in Dubai and Tokyo. In 2020, she was entrusted with the interim general management of Grand Hyatt Tokyo, where she supported programs marking the enthronement of the Emperor of Japan that hosted 13 heads of state and their accompanying delegations.
She also worked at The Grand Hyatt Tokyoan official Home site of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
In 2022, Christine Fergers moved on to the position of Managing Director of Alila Seminyak Resortmarking the second time a woman has been named head of a Hyatt Hotel in Indonesia.
Christine shares the passion for her field of employment by supporting the “[email protected]” initiative – a program that aims to empower female colleagues and help them develop their careers.
When not busy operating the 5-star Alila Seminyak Resort, Christine’s leisure activities include gardening and Pilates.
