Immigration issues 153 tourist visas since October
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The general management of Immigration issued tourist visas as the government reopened the country’s borders to international visitors from 19 countries since October 2021.
“Referring to the decree of the Minister of Justice and Human Rights dated October 13, 2021, tourist visas can only be granted to those from 19 countries,” said the spokesperson for DG Immigration Arya Pradhana Anggakara in a press release written on Wednesday December 1. .
Since last October, the director general of immigration has approved 153 tourist visa applications. Most came from France, India and Sweden.
Angga pointed out that the tourist visa application requires a guarantor from a travel agency. “The tourist visa is only valid for entry through two airports, namely Hang Nadim in Batam and Ngurah Rai in Denpasar,” he added.
The director general of immigration also noted that foreigners who have entered Bali or Batam are not allowed to travel to other cities in Indonesia. Foreign tourists must also take a direct flight from their home country to both regions.
In addition to tourist visit visas, the government also approves visa applications for emergency and urgent travel, business travel and others, as stipulated in Decree No. M.HH-03.GR.01.05 of 2021 of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. the application for a visit visa can be made online via the Immigration DG official website on visa-online.imigration.go.id
