Microsoft Flight Simulator Wellington Airport Gets First Screenshots; Advertisement of Puerto Plata; Exit from Rome Fiumicino and Speck-Fehraltorf

Today, third-party developers released new add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator, in addition to sharing new reveals.
We start with FlightBeam Studioswho shared the first look at their upcoming Wellington (NZWN) airport in New Zealand.
The developer is applying the finishing touches to the airport before entering beta testing, so it shouldn’t be too far off.
Next comes a announcement from Dreamflight Studios, which will release the Gregorio Luperón International Airport (MDPP) serving Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic.
It’s the fourth busiest airport in the Republic, with lots of air traffic both year-round and seasonal, so it’s definitely a worthwhile addition to the simulator for those who enjoy flying in the Caribbean.
We can also see a single screenshot.
Along with releases, MK Studios launched the Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport (LIRF) in Rome, Italy.
You can find it on live orbx for $17.16. Below you can read and see what you can expect.
- Rome Fiumicino airport in a very detailed rendering
- High definition PBR textures
- Airport development 2022
- Satellite image of the airport area
- Simplified terminal interior
Another release comes from Terrainy Studios and that’s Speck-Fehraltorf (LZSK) near Zurich, Switzerland.
you can find it on Sim Market for $9.25 plus applicable VAT.
- Highly detailed 3D models of the airport and its surroundings.
- Dynamic landscape objects that are affected by wind direction, weather, and time of year.
- 10 cm precision orthophotography (ZL20), covering the airport area.
- Animated models of people and animals.
- Static aircraft models.
- Highly detailed tower interior.
- Precise track slope
- 4K textures using PBR exclusively
- Optimized performance.
- Precise custom mesh.
- Accurate approach marks.
- Custom placed plants and vegetation.
We then obtain a new early access version from Hype Performance Group, which has opened pre-orders for the Airbus H145 “Action Pack”.
This will include 5 additional variants focused on the rescue and utility of the developer’s Airbus H145 helicopter.
It costs $40 (currently reduced to $35) and will come with the following variants:
- Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) and Search and Rescue (SAR)
- Firefighter
- Offshore utilities and coast guard
- Civil cargo
- military cargo
Of course, the base H145 package is required to use this extension.
Unfortunately, not all the news is good for third-party developers today, as at least two affected local studios have been impacted by the ongoing invasion of Ukraine.
The first is Pryeegue, who is one of the most talented airport developers for Microsoft Flight Simulator. They recently released Glasgow and Edinburgh and they were working on Belfast International Airport (EGAA).
Below you can see the latest image they released of the airport under construction on their facebook page. You can find all their airports on Orbx Direct, in case you want to support them. Their quality is absolutely recommended in all areas.

The second developer is FlightSimGames, whose work on an upcoming Pilatus Porter PC-6 we’ve covered several times in the past.
Today they posted on the Official Microsoft Flight Simulator Forum mentioning that their work on the plane is on hold and that they would try to visit the forums from time to time, hoping to find the dedicated thread alive.
These are the developers affected by the crisis that we are aware of, but there could be more. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and their families, and we hope they will be safe.
Update: Orbx announced that until the end of March it will completely waive store fees from all sales made by developers in Ukraine on Orbx Direct, which means that 100% of what we pay for the products listed below will go directly to their developers.
